Buttoned Togther

One of my favorite stamp sets from the Summer Catalog is Buttoned Together. You can actually stamp your buttons! In this card I used a layering effect with foam 3-d squares to make the card come to life. I also mixed up the way the card opens by taking a 4x12 and scoring at the 4" lines on either side.

Memorial Day

Today, we celebrate our freedoms and we remember the fallen who gave us those freedoms.
For all of you have served our country to protect our rights as Americans I thank you. For all the mothers, wives, daughters, fathers, sons who have served or love someone who has served I thank you. I know at times we forget what today is...but I understand how blessed I am to live in this country and to have the liberties we have.

Create your own circles!

Have you ever thought to create your own circles, by drawing them by hand and then cutting them out? I know for those of you A types it is hard, but it is good scrapbook therapy. This layout uses hand drawn circles to embellish the page and it cost me nothing! Try it hand made shapes are great embellishments!

Christmas Cookies

All this shaped paper at times is hard to work into a page. Here I took the shape and cut it in half. Angled my pics...kinda ol' school but it works for the page because it balances the page well. Then I highlighted the cookies with our new CTMH connection club special. Added my stamps and some trees for deco!

Proud American

A snowy day...not the 4th of July or Memorial Day...but just a day in the snow. The flag pole however was basking in the sun with the clouds breaking. It made me feel proud to be an American. I feel blessed that I live her in America. I understand that so many have given everything so that I can be free. So this week scrapbook a feeling rather then an event.

Survivor Mommy

Isn't true that each day we get to play a "real" reality show called Survivor Mommy. Yes, I am blessed but at times it does not feel that way. I also believe that often we fail to document the whole story....the screaming, crying, whining and the point of pure exhaustion. We all scrap the good times, but what about the bad? Are they not an important part of the story we write?
I challenge you to take some pictures and document the whole truth good and bad, because maybe when your son or daughter is raising their kids and they are at the point were they may pull out their own hair...they can look back at their story and realize that every parent struggles and that struggle is part of the journey.
This page was stolen right out of the pages of our Reflections book. Title layout and all. The picture of course is mine and a typical day in the Lang household.

Take your title to a new place! Break it up! Create visual interest by creating your own handmade circles and setting the pictures at a angle (ol' school style). Outline the pics by framing them with CTMH stamps. Love this page and it was quick easy and told the story!

Watch your step!

Tell me this is what your living room floor looks like? Because my floor is always messy, actually this is a good day. You always have to watch your step in my house. But I am thankful I have a son who likes to play with his toys and is independent. That gives me the ability to work at home.

Where's your happy spot?

This is a layout I had in mind for a very long time. My happy spot...my scrap room. Yes, I have one and I love it. It doesn't normally look this clean, but it sure helps me stay motivated on my pages and my cards, it also serves as a retreat when my the word Mom has been repeated 100 times over the course of the day.

Nature Hike

This weekend was National Scrapbook Day and we had a great time. I had fun playing with the new paper packs and stamps I received. I love the new paper Back Country. I have to admit at first glance I wasn't so excited but when I started to scrapbook with it and saw it in person it is really great for the outdoors. This layout is from last summer, just a jog out our front door there is this beautiful waterfall. I love living in the country...how many of you have this outside your door that is man made!
